Clarendon Hotel
We’ve partnered with Hotel Clarendon to offer our guests a discounted nightly rate. It’s right in the heart of Old Quebec, directly across from City Hall. We’ve loved dining at their restaurant, Les Mordus, for breakfast (every bite was delicious!). From the hotel, you’ll be just a short walk to local favourites like COWS ice cream (5 minutes) and the Quebec-based department store La Maison Simons (2 minutes). The discounted rates are as follows: single Queen or King bedroom at $271/n, alternatively, for a Double Queen bedroom it is $311/n, plus taxes. Your stay must include Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22 to unlock the discounted rate. You are able to extend your stay at the hotel up to two nights prior and/or two nights after at the same rate, if available. Room quantities are limited, to book either call 418-692-2480 or 1-888-554-6001, or email reservations@hotelclarendon.com — you are not able to book online. Please reference "Michael Gass & Daniel Hildreth’s Wedding" Code: 260821WED — must book before July 7, 2026.

Strom Spa
One of our favourite spots in the world, Strøm Spa is an oasis nestled in the centre of Quebec City. This classic Nordic spa stands out for its gorgeous saunas, pools, and relaxation areas. You can unwind while overlooking one of Canada’s most iconic waterways, the St. Lawrence River. Challenge yourself to complete the full ritual: heat up in a pool or sauna for 15 minutes, take a cold plunge for 15–60 seconds, then rest for 15 minutes!

Maelstrøm Saint-Roch
A coffee shop, a brunch spot, a restaurant, and a cocktail lounge all come together here. Eating here feels like an authentic Québécois experience — this is where the locals go! Daniel and I loved their coffee and their brunch, but mostly, their vibe. Relaxed, cozy, and interesting, this is the perfect spot to chill before or after our wedding.

COWS Icecream
COWS ice cream is very close to our hearts. Named by multiple publications as “Canada’s best ice cream,” COWS is known for its rich flavours made with real cream from Michael’s home province, Prince Edward Island. A must-stop for dessert! We recommend “Wowie Cowie”, “Moo York Cheesecake" or "Royal Cownadian Mint"! P.S. A pint is a much better deal than a double scoop, especially if you can freeze it for later!

Whale watching
Although we have never whale-watched before, Québec is one of the best places to see whales. The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is home to belugas, humpbacks, and even the occasional blue whale. From Québec City, you can join a full-day excursion or drive to Tadoussac for a shorter cruise. Here are some companies to consider: - Croisières AML, day trips from Québec City or cruises from Tadoussac - OrganisAction, zodiac tours based in Tadoussac and Bergeronnes - Essipit Cruises, Indigenous-owned zodiac tours from Les Bergeronnes - Mer et Monde, eco-focused excursions, including sea kayaking It’s a trek, but unforgettable. Just pack layers — the St. Lawrence can be chilly even in summer!

JJacques
This is where Daniel originally planned to propose to Michael. Named one of Canada’s best bars four years in a row, Jjaques offers an elevated drinking and dining experience. The cuisine is all about sharing, with a focus on seafood and small plates, but without neglecting high-quality cuts of meat and seasonal produce. Be warned it’s pricey, but it’s an experience you won’t soon forget.
